The EuroCham Vietnam Gala Dinner and Business Awards 2024 gathered over 550 distinguished guests, including business leaders, investors, diplomats, and political figures, celebrating the robust ties between European and Vietnamese businesses. This annual event recognizes outstanding achievements in sustainability, innovation, and SME support, reinforcing the strong connections shaping the Europe-Vietnam economic landscape.
A highlight of the evening was the EuroCham Vietnam Business Awards, honoring members for their exceptional contributions. Heineken Vietnam received the Green Business of the Year award for its sustainability initiatives, including the use of biomass thermal energy and advanced heat pump technology. The Business Innovation Award went to FPT Digital for its AI-powered factory solutions, which leverage cloud technology to enhance operational efficiency. Meanwhile, Eagle Technology JSC Vietnam was recognized with the SME Excellence Award for its innovative VÍXLA SYSTEM, which transforms plastic waste into valuable resources. A panel of seasoned judges, familiar with Vietnam’s business dynamics, selected the winners.
EuroCham Chairman Mr. Bruno Jaspaert opened the event with reflections on this year’s theme, “Five Elements of Life,” underscoring the importance of collaboration for sustainable growth. He stressed that businesses, governments, and communities must work together to ensure a resilient future, thanking all attendees for their role in strengthening the Europe-Vietnam partnership.
“Mr. Laurent Lourdais, First Counsellor and Deputy Head of the Trade Section from the EU Delegation, spoke on cross-border cooperation to address global challenges. “With sustainability at the forefront of both regions’ priorities, only through collaboration can lasting solutions be achieved,” he remarked.”
Mr. Lourdais also noted that the European Commission Vice President, Margaritis Schinas, was impressed by the scale of GEFE 2024 and the EU’s strong business presence in Vietnam.
Vice-Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, emphasized the city’s dedication to fostering international partnerships. He noted that, like the elements in nature, sustainable development thrives on the synergy between sectors and nations, and he expressed optimism that these collaborations would drive economic prosperity and environmental resilience.
The evening exemplified EuroCham’s dedication to bridging gaps between the European and Vietnamese business communities, reaffirming a shared commitment to building a sustainable future that mirrors the perfect balance of the five elements.
